“You have to get up,” I heard someone whisper, tapping me a little. I jumped up screaming from what I last remembered.
“Stop it! You’ll get us all in trouble!” the voice yelled a little above whispering. I stop and looked at my surrounding. I could see rooms across from me, it was small and crowded. There were beds,but they didn’t look comfortable. Nothing here was pleasant.
People walked around naked as if it was just as natural like wearing clothes. I looked away blushing. Why are they so accustomed to this way?
I touch my naked arms, wondering what happened to my shirt. I looked down to find myself naked. I grabbed a pillow hiding what I could. I heard laughter from behind me.
“That’s not funny! Where are we?” I asked. Some laughing face went sour, while some went teary. Had I asked the wrong question?
“Welcome to Hell, or should I say Heaven. That’s what they called it anyways.” A small girl said. She was dirty and all bruised. She had a black eye, and small cuts on the arms, torso and belly.
“What are you talking about? I don’t even know how I got here. I just want to go home! Please take me back home!” I begged a guy, he looked at me scornfully.
“You think we want to be here? You think we like getting up at dawn, go to the center, watching them, beating the shit out of outsiders with their iron punches? Huh?! Scaring us, that if we don’t conform we would be like our mothers, or fathers? Dead, that’s what we’d be.”
“What is he talking about?” I asked, feeling my heart rate speed up.
“At dawn, we have to be up, all. So can’t sleep til dawn o’ five. We all have to get up exactly at the same time, like switches controlling us. Then march to the center, in sync. Like robots. Like freaking machines. We can never make mistakes, we are to be perfect.”
“You were in a special class in school weren’t you? Let me say this slowly, they have taken over. We, humans, gave them too much power. It all started in the factories, humans were too lazy, and so they created them. Simple right? Wrong! We grew lazier, and created more intelligent ones to do our work better. And they did it, all too well. They acted like us, they started to become us. And like all humans, they started to rebel. No one was ready, no one expected them to take over. We were all blindsided.”
“Who are they?”
“Haven’t you figured it out as yet? They are not humans! Humans at least have morals. But these, kills without no remorse. None whats so ever….” he trailed off, slouching on the floor.
“I don’t know what you guys are talking about! I want to go go!” I yelled, like a kid throwing a tantrum.
“The phones, the computers, the tablets! For goodness sake, the freaking Robots!”
